Your Everglades Airboat Ride & Wildlife Adventure starts with a 30-minute airboat tour of the Florida Everglades. The tour will be guided by an extensively trained and experienced captain. During the tour, you'll hear tales of how the Seminole and panther once coexisted in this lush wilderness. As you skim across the glassy water, you'll catch a glimpse of endangered wildlife that inhabits the area. Feel free and let your spirit soar as you view nature at its finest. Your experience includes entrance to all exhibit areas. Along with friendly turtles and iguanas, you can learn about the crocodiles, caimens and pythons in the Reptile Exhibit. Be sure to bring your camera for a "Hold an Alligator" experience! Next, visit the Exotic Wildlife exhibit featuring a Florida Panther and a variety of species each day that often include black leopards, timber wolves, and several other exciting mammals. Please don't miss "Swamp" yard Island! You and your family can interact and feed many of the animals at this exhibit such as potbellied pigs, parrots and ducks. Special Schedule Notes
• December 18: Tours will operate 9:00 am to 1:30 pm with a final airboat ride at 3:00 pm when the exhibit areas close. Reptile Exhibit Take a walk on the wild side...back in time...with an original dinosaur - the Florida Alligator. The reptile exhibit features dozens of species both native and exotic to Florida. Along with friendly turtles and iguanas, you can learn about Cannibal, a 1000 pound alligator! There's also a water monitor named Mona. Handlers are happy to demonstrate how these animals live and survive in the wild. Be sure to bring your camera so you can capture the excitement when you cradle one of these majestic animals in the "Hold a Baby Alligator" experience. Exotic Wildlife Exhibit A very special part of your adventure will be the Exotic Wildlife exhibit. The Predators Unlimited organization brings a variety of animals to the park each day. The handlers strive to educate and enlighten the public about endangered species like the Florida Panther, and will happily answer any questions. Playful critters abound and amaze as you get up close and personal with many different animals that often include panthers, tigers, and even birds of prey. Currently, they display Shaolin - a beautiful Florida panther, 2 black leopards, as well as two stunning wolves. "Swamp" Yard Island And, don't miss "Swamp" Yard Island! You and your family can interact and feed many of the animals at this exhibit. The "Swamp" Yard features three tremendous pot-bellied pigs that will eat just about anything! You can often find them rutting a hole in their pen and rolling in the mud. There are also Peaking ducks, including several new babies. These ducks enjoy their pool and spending time with one another. Handsome and Peanut are the resident Iguanas. Many of these animals have been brought to South Florida over the last few years and are now one of the main invasive species in the area. In addition to the bunnies, chickens and roosters that also inhabit this exhibit, there are 3 beautiful peacocks, Ed, Max and Penelope. They often make loud honking noises when they are looking for one another. These guys are very friendly so don't be alarmed if they waddle right up to you looking for a snack!
